Corvara

The village of Corvara is located at 1,568 metres above sea level at the bottom of the Sassongher Mountain.

Corvara is located in a valley basin and is also called the "cradle of tourism" in Alta Badia. Mountaineers started to discover the surrounding mountain world during the second half of the 18th century and even the first tourists found their way to Alta Badia. The construction of the Col Alto ski lift in 1938 lead to the start of winter tourism in this area. In 1947 this lift was exchanged to a chairlift - the first in Italy.

From the Pralongià plateau you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Marmolada and the Austrian Alps. This is the ideal destination for spending an active holiday. More than 130 km of slopes await you in winter. The beautiful mountain scenery is of course also ideal for winter hiking, snow-shoe hiking and ski tours. In summer Corvara is a great destination for hikers, mountain-bikers and nature-lovers, but also for golfers and swimmers. Corvara offers numerous wellness hotels, great restaurants and also an exciting night-life.

Corvara has also plenty to offer from a cultural point of view like the S. Croce Church at the bottom of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. In the studio of Raimond Mussner you can visit the exhibition of aquarelles and bronze studies.

A must for all skiers: the Sella Round Tour – skiing around the Sella Mountain Massif.
